So this weekend I headed out to the San Diego Comic Con.
Friday we landed and headed straight to the con for our badges and to score on some rare vinyl toy stuff.
I did get to see the Robert Englund panel, and got pictures. It was awesome. Then I headed back down to the exhibition hall for a trip to the Kaiju Big Battel table. Got a Dr Cube shirt and the new DVD. No dice on the Cube himself so back to ogling expensive gears and laughing at awful costumes.
I found this doll I liked a lot and kind of hemmed on the cost, but decided to get it anyway and then couldn't stop looking at it. It was the con exclusive as well so it was limited and worth it. I'm not going to buy them all. I'm not obsessed. I'm staying away from the website.
There were some things we missed due to lines (175,000 ppl, what can you do), but there was some things we refused to let a line deter us from, like the Bladerunner panel with Ridley Scott, Sean Young, Terkel, Hong, and Joanna Cassidy. There was a teaser for the definitive release coming up... 47 minutes of extra footage. OMG. I was awestruck, for sure. Hong was hilarious! I JUST DO EYES! WHATSA MATTER YOU?
We were worn out, but after the con finished up, we headed to Mission Beach to catch Richard Cheese at Canes. AWESOME! Well, until he came into the crowd, wrapped an arm around me and shoved the microphone in my face and I went blank on the lyrics. Hard to be cool when you have 700 people staring at you! The show was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing even though I was about to pass out from exhaustion.
Saturday we couldn't tear ourselves away from the house, but eventually made it back downtown.
Missed Rob Zombie WAY huge line.
Missed Sam Raimi line wrapped around the convention center.
Got to meet more of the Kaiju Big Battel guys and got my picture with Dr Cube [as evidenced, haha]!!! Yay!!
Got hooked on these creepy dolls from the UK... bought two more of 'em. Not obsessed, no I'm not.
Did get a ton of stuff and got to see people I wasn't even expecting... like Gene Simmons, Roman Dirge, Johnen Vasquez, Ray Bradbury [yay!] rolled past us while we were sitting in a hallway taking a break and a few others as well.
It was a great deal of fun. I think I want to go back. OK, I'm sure I want to go back!
Sunday we ditched the con and headed to the beach. We ended up at Black's Beach by the Glider Port in La Jolla. Wow... really gorgeous.
I'm totally impressed and pictures are forthcoming!

Anyway, I got Irae, Vates, and Solus. The only other one I want is Triginta Tres. I might see about picking her up on eBay or something later on, heh.
They're odd, I like them.

Well, one had it pinned up? It was a schoolgirl one so I didn't pay attention too much.
